For more than 40 years, Grenzebach has supplied machinery and equipment for manufacturing and processing flat glass. Intelligent control systems provide high-quality products and high-end performance. A simulation program allows optimization of the line concept from the start to finish, including optimized availability production yield.

Grenzebach has been a very successful supplier for automation and process technology for the production of thin-film solar modules. Production lines with an annual output of nearly 3 GWp are supported by Grenzebach machinery. Project solutions have been successfully engineered across the spectrum including Si, CdTe and CI(G)S.

Except for the coating technology and the chemical processing all equipment units can be supplied by Grenzebach. At the front end these are: loading, edge processing, transport, metrology, cleaning and laser processing (P1-P3). The typical back-end technologies are laser edge removal, electric tests, contacting, foil handling and lamination, installation of the outlets, flashing, Wet HiPot and sorting and packing.

A special highlight of the Grenzebach thin-film solar line is the continuous control system concept. This is an intelligent system uniting all necessary functions from the overriding MES up to the drive system. Planning of production (resources, maintenance, simulation, recipe management) and analysis of all production data is a significant strength of the Grenzebach MES system.

Another field of expertise is complete automation as well as process tooling. Grenzebach offers a complete portfolio to the solar sector from CSP Fresnel mirror module production to CPV module manufacture.
