At its photovoltaic competence center in Berlin, IMA Automation contributes to promoting “green energy”. Our portfolio includes solutions for silicon and thin-film technologies as well as custom-made applications.

In the field of silicon technology, IMA has developed the modustringer^®, a high-performance stringer system with new intelligent technical details for the large-lot production of high-quality strings. High throughput, low breakage rates and perfectly soldered strings are just some of the benefits this stringer provides. An easy-to-service and modular design reduces retooling and downtime to a minimum.

The modustringer^® can be integrated easily and flexibly into existing production lines or installed as a component of new module fabrication lines. The modustringer^® guarantees the highest productivity while ensuring careful handling of solar cells.

In addition, IMA Automation offers layup systems with interconnection and string inspection functions. The “moduWlayer” is the perfect device to complement the modustringer^®.

moduWlayer systems can be easily integrated into large-lot production plants. With the two systems combined, production lines with an output of 25 MW to 50 MW are possible. The advantage forour customers at this stage of the value-added chain: a comprehensive pool of know-how and everything available from one stop.

IMA’s latest development is the “moduWcontec” system for thin-film module production. It realizes the complete backside contact of the thin-film solar module including the contact interface for the junction-box. moduWcontec is based on the modular structure and design of the modustringer^® and combines the essential technologies with high processing speed in one system for the first time.
