Peak performance in solar technologies

Photovoltaics will play an important role worldwide as a sustainable energy source in the future. The Meyer Burger Group has set itself the goal of lowering manufacturing costs throughout the whole photovoltaic value chain while improving the efficiency level of solar cells. Based on its broad process expertise, Meyer Burger is developing integrated system solutions which incorporate several processes. The Group’s intensive research and development activities are setting new standards in production methods and are driving industrialization of solar technology forward. This has been resulting in a constant reduction in manufacturing costs, creating the possibility of actively utilizing the process of converting sunlight into electricity worldwide as an important element of energy production.

Solar wafers:

Sawing technologies are being refined and developed continuously for the manufacture of solar wafers. Machines and systems are supplemented and expanded with robotics and automated systems to create integrated systems and process lines.

Solar cells:

Meyer Burger has its own inspection and sorting facilities and customized handling solutions for processing and finishing the surfaces of solar wafers as solar cells. The Solaris system comprises highly accurate coating of solar wafers based on nanotechnology.

Solar modules:

Fully-automated production installations and laminating lines from 3S Modultec and string soldering benches from Somont and test systems from Pasan are used in the module manufacturing business.

Solar systems:

3S Photovoltaics develops and manufactures building-integrated solar systems for roofs, façades and shading solutions. The frameless solar panels provide highly efficient, high-quality solar systems which satisfy the highest aesthetic standards.
